-=Chapter 7=-

***Robin’s Perspective***

Dann had been right on the money with his prediction the night before. While we were at breakfast the next morning Mr. Dowlin asked the two of us if we would help with the new arrivals that would be coming in that day. We both said that we would, though we weren’t real sure about what we could do to help. Ryan offered to stay in the suite and help the new first years pick their room and get settled. Mark offered to stay with Ryan and Rachel and Suzy said they would do the same thing for the first year girls.

After breakfast we split up to get ready to receive the new arrivals. Dann and I went downstairs to wait at the main entrance. The first batch was scheduled to start arriving any time now. Just before the bus pulled up Dann let me know that they were coming and that most of them were in pretty good spirits and looking forward to the new school.

“There’s only one or two of them that are nervous, and they are all first years, the upper class students seem to be doing all right.” Dann told me.

Mr. Dowlin was standing near by and heard what he said. “Dann, I want you to use your empathic abilities to try and calm them down and to feel comfortable when they get off the bus.”

“Ok Mr. Dowlin, I’ll do what I can.” Dann told him.

“I know you will Dann,” he responded, “I knew when you came into your powers that you would be very helpful around here.”

Dann blushed slightly at the praise.

“What about me Mr. Dowlin?” I asked.

“Robin, I want you to help the first years get their stuff together and show them to the suite. With the link you two share you can send word down here to Dann if there are any problems and he can let me know.”

“No problem.” I replied.

The bus pulled up and started offloading it’s passengers while the driver and one of the other staff members started unloading the baggage from underneath.

Everyone was milling around waiting to get their luggage and looking at the impressive sight of the castle and the grounds.

“May I have everyone’s attention please?” Mr. Dowlin called out.

Once everyone was looking at him he continued, “I want to be the first to welcome you all to RavenWolf School of Magick. I’m Mr. Dowlin the schools principal. I want to introduce you to a couple of other people who will be helping you all to find your way around this afternoon. Once everyone gets settled we will meet in the dinning hall where we will go over the information you will need.”

“To get things moving, first years, this is Mr. Morrison, he is our English teacher, and will be acting as the advisor for all first year students. Also, first years, this is Dann and Robin. Robin will be escorting the first year boys to your suite. First Year girls, this is Suzy, and she will be escorting you to your suite.”

“Second Years, this is Miss Cross, she is our World History Teacher and will also be acting as the advisor your class. Please follow her and she will show you to your suites.”

“Third Years, this is Ms. Cortize, she is our Latin teacher and will also be acting as your advisor this year. Please follow her as she will be showing you to your suites.”

“Forth Years, this is Mr. von Buran, he is our German teacher and will be your advisor for the year. He will lead you all to your suites.”

“Finally, fifth years, this is Mr. Blaque, he is our Potions teacher and will be your advisor for your final year here at RavenWolf’s and will show you to the fifth year suites.”

“Now, if everyone will grab their bags and follow those who have been assigned to you, you are free to go to your dorms. We will meet in the dinning hall in two hours for lunch and to go over the school rules and what-not before we begin showing you around the campus.”

With that everyone headed to the dorms except for Dann and Mr. Morrison.

***Danns Perspective***

After the students had all gone inside, following their assigned guides, and I had given Robin a mental hug, Mr. Dowlin turned to me and Mr. Morrison. “Dann, Robert, I want you two to stay with me. Dann, I want you to let me know if Robin thinks there are going to be any problems with the other first year boys. Robert, because of Danns empathic abilities I think he will be the best choice to be president of his class. He will be able to help all of the first years adjust to the new school better than anyone. Do you have a problem with this?”

Mr. Morrison gave me an appraising look, “No, I think you’re right. He would be the best choice.”

“Good,” Mr. Dowlin said. “I’ve already instructed the other advisors to keep a watch on their students today and to select their class presidents as well. The presidents will be the liaisons between you, the advisors and the students in each of the years. I don’t want to have class elections like in most schools, because I don’t want it to turn into a popularity contest. I want people in those positions that are actually suited to the job. Dann, do you understand what your duties will be?”

I thought for a moment, “Yes sir, I think so. If any of the first years are having problems, I’m to let Mr. Morrison here know about it. Likewise, I will be sure to relay any information he might have to the class. Is that about right?”

“I think that pretty well sums it up, yes.” Mr. Dowlin answered me with a smile.

Congratulations babe, I know you’ll make a great president.” Robin said in my head and made me smile from the feelings of warmth and confidence he was sending down to me. “By the way, all the boys seem to be taking things very well. Ryan and Mark are doing a bang-up job of helping them get settled.”

I looked at Mr. Dowlin and Mr. Morrison, “Robin says that the boys are doing fine and that Ryan and Mark are doing great at helping them get settled and feel comfortable.”

Both men smiled at me. “Ok Dann, if there doesn’t seem to be any problems with them, then I guess you can go on upstairs and rejoin Robin. I’ll see you guys in about an hour and a half in the dinning hall.” Mr. Dowlin said.

I quickly took my leave of the two older men and headed upstairs to join my boyfriend and our friends.

***Robin’s Perspective***

Suzy and I lead the first years upstairs where we split up at the second floor where Suzy lead the girls to their suite while I took the boys on up to the third floor and our suite.

When we all walked into our suite I was surprised to see that Ryan and Mark had managed to abscond with some snacks and drinks from the kitchen and had them all laid out on the table in the common room. “I’m not even going ask how you two managed to get your hands on all that stuff and get it up here.” I chuckled at the site of our welcoming party. I turned to the boys that were following me into the room, “Guys this is Ryan and Mark, their in the first room in that wing,” I said pointing towards the wing that Ryan and Mark shared with me and Dann. “You four get to pair off in the two rooms on that side.” I said indicating the other wing. “Go pick your rooms and come on back in here and relax for a bit. We have some video games, and as you can see, the guys have laid out a welcome feast for you. So hurry up and come on back in here.”

Ryan and Mark noticed the look on my face and knew that I was communicating with Dann. “So what’s that boy of yours saying?” Ryan asked me.

“You’re not going to believe this, but Mr. Dowlin just made him our class president. Seems their going to appoint the class presidents so that it doesn’t turn into a popularity contest. So it looks like this is going to be not only a welcome party, but also a congratulations party. He’s on his way up right now, so let’s quickly get the guys in here, I sent a message down to Suzy to have her bring the girls up here too, they should be here in a few seconds.”

Ryan ran through the door to the other wing and got the four new boys, just as they were entering the common room there was a knock on the door. I opened it to allow Suzy, Rachel, and the six other new girls in. I quickly brought everyone in the room up to speed on what was going on. I managed to finish just before Dann walked in the door. We all yelled congratulations to him and went about devouring the food and drinks the guys had set out.

Dann grabbed my hand and excused us before dragging me down the hall to our room.

As soon as our bedroom door was closed he grabbed me in a tight embrace and started kissing me with fervor. “Thank you so much for that babe,” he said breaking our kiss a few moments later. “That was really special, I just hope that I can be a good president for everyone.”

“You will be babe,” I said giving him another quick kiss. “Now, I think we need to get back out there and get everyone ready to head down to the dinning hall.”

“Yeah, I guess you’re right. It is getting a bit close to that time. But tonight we are going to celebrate privately and I’m going to show you just how much you mean to me.” He said and gave me another very passionate kiss before we rejoined the others.

“Ok Everyone,” Dann yelled out to the room after we re-entered, “It’s about time to head down to the dinning hall. So let’s get this mess cleaned up real good before we leave.”

It was amazing to see everyone jump to and start doing what he said, within moments you could not tell that there had ever been any kind of party or anything there. Once everything was cleaned up and everyone was ready we all followed Dann downstairs to the dinning hall. He led us over to our class’ table where we all grabbed our seats. The majority of the other students had already arrived and were talking animatedly at their tables. A few moments later the faculty and staff arrived taking their seats.

Before lunch was served Mr. Dowlin introduced the rest of the faculty and staff to everyone and then gave the school rules and a brief history on the founding of the school. “After lunch we will break up into the 5 classes and conduct tours of the grounds and facilities. These tours will be conducted by your class advisors. Now, unless any of the other teachers or staff has anything to add, let’s eat.” The faculty went through the serving line first followed by the fifth years and then on down the line with first years being the last through.

After everyone had eaten their fill we all broke up into our groups to take the tour. Even though Dann, Ryan and I did not need to go on the tour we went anyway as we were curious to hear what Mr. Morrison was going to tell everyone. After the tour Mr. Morrison told us that we would have a few hours to relax and get things unpacked and put away before reporting back to the dinning hall at 6pm for dinner. “I know some of you may be a bit jetlagged from traveling all the way from the west coast or farther, so you might want to take a short nap to get your internal clocks adjusted to the time change. Robin and Dann will make sure that you are awake in time for dinner.” With that he released us and went back to his own apartment.

We went back to our suites were some of the boys took naps after putting their stuff away and others sat out in the common area playing video games or talking.

About 5:30 I went in to wake the boys that were napping so they could get ready for dinner. Once they were up and ready we all went downstairs to the dinning hall.

We all went through the line and got our food, then went to sit down at our table to eat. We were just finishing our meals when this kid suddenly appeared over our table and came crashing down in the middle of it. We all jumped back as the table collapsed from his impact.

I quickly went to the young boy and knelt down next to him and put my hand on his shoulder. He jumped at the contact, “Hey, it’s ok, don’t worry. No one’s going to hurt you. I’m Robin by the way, what’s your name?”

The boy looked at me, and in a shaky voice said “I…I’m Bobby.”

I helped Bobby stand up, but when he looked around and saw all the people gathering around to see what was going on he collapsed back to the ground, and balled himself up with his knees to his chest and his head buried.

Mr. Dowlin and Mr. Redfern came over and after quickly taking in the scene shooed the other students away. Mr. Dowlin squatted down in front of us and addressed Bobby, “Hey, you have nothing to be frightened of ok?” Bobby looked at him for a moment and then gave a slight nod of his head. “Do you know where you are or how you got here?” Bobby shook his head and started trembling again. “Ok, I’ll tell you. You’re at the RavenWolf School of Magick. Do you know where that is?” Bobby shook his head but did not look at the principal. “What’s your name?”

“Bobby.” He said in a very small voice.

Mr. Dowlin smiled at him, “Ok, Bobby my name is Mr. Dowlin and I’m the principal of the school. The gentleman next to me is named Mr. Redfern, he is the president of the school. Where are you from?”

“Georgia.” Bobby said.

Mr. Dowlin and Mr. Redfern looked at each other with astonished looks on their faces, then looked up at the ceiling for a moment before turning back to the young man still cowering on the floor all drawn into himself.

“Ok Bobby, why don’t you come with us over to the hospital wing and let the nurse check you out, ok?” Bobby nodded his head and let them help him up.

Mr. Dowlin started leading Bobby away but Mr. Redfern held back just a moment, once they were out the door Mr. Redfern turned to me and Dann, “Boys, why don’t you get your class back to their dorms and then join us in medical. Robin, would you send a message up to your mom and let her know what’s happened and that we’re on our way up?”

“Yes sir, we’ll see you up there in a few minutes.” I said. He gave me a nod and then proceeded to catch up with Mr. Dowlin and Bobby.

I reached out with my thoughts and quickly let my mom know what had happened. I then turned saw Dann standing next me. He pulled me into a tight hug, “He’s terrified babe. I’m going to get Ryan to take charge of the other boys and get them back to the suite. I think we need to get back to Bobby as soon as we can. He seemed to relax a bit when you touched him and was comfortable with you near. I know how he feels because you have the same effect on me.” He said smiling at me.

Dann motioned Ryan over, “Ryan, I need you take charge of the guys and make sure they get back to the suit. Robin and I are going to go up to the medical suite and do what we can to help Bobby. But let’s get this mess cleaned up some first to give Robin’s mom time to check him out first.”

“Yeah, no problem Dann. I sure hope he’s ok, that was a nasty fall, and you know he had to have hit pretty hard for the table to do like it did.” Ryan said as we started to pick up the mess that was around us. We managed to get it cleaned up fairly quickly with everyone’s help. Even some of the upperclassmen gave us a hand and expressed their concern for the young man who had suddenly, quite literally, dropped into our lives.

We walked with the rest of the boys back upstairs and dropped them off at the suite before heading on down the hall to the back of the castle where mom’s office was located.

“Robin,” Dann stopped me just before we went in, “Bobby is very scared, and now I’m getting feelings of embarrassment from him. See if you can read him and find out what happened.”

I concentrated for a few moments, but could not seem to reach him. I found this kind of odd as I had never had much trouble reading anyone before. Especially when I was this close to them. “Sorry babe, I can’t reach him.” Dann nodded and then opened the door.

As soon as we stepped in we saw Bobby once again drawn up into a ball and rocking back and forth. “He’s scared and afraid he is going to be hurt.” Dann said.

“He’s so far into himself I can’t reach him. We’re going to need to call in someone stronger.” I said.

We walked over and sat down on either side of Bobby trying to comfort him.

Mr. Redfern turned to Mr. Dowlin, “Bill, will you go get Mr. Black? I think he can help us.”

“Sure, be back in a moment.” He said and quickly left the office.

Mom had a look of worry on her face, “What’s wrong mom?” I asked her telepathically.

I’m just worried about him. What kind of parents could make a boy feel like that?” she thought back.

A few minutes later Mr. Dowlin returned with Mr. Black, the spell casting teacher. Mr. Black took one look at Bobby and immediately came over to us.

Dann let me feel what he was feeling and I could sense the revulsion coming from Mr. Black as he silently communicated with Bobby, at the same time I could feel Bobby starting to calm down.

After several minutes Mr. Black opened his eyes and so did Bobby. Bobby looked around and noticed that Dann and I were with him.

“Hi Bobby, I’m Dann. I’m Robin’s boyfriend.” Dann told him holding his hand out to Bobby.

Bobby looked at Dann with a dumbstruck expression for a moment before slowly shaking Dann’s hand. We helped him off the floor and led him to a couch that was in mom’s outer office leaving the adults to talk. When we sat down Dann and I put our arms around Bobby and he melted into our embrace and finally fully relaxed.

A moment later we saw Mr. Redfern leave mom’s office. Mom, Mr. Dowlin and Mr. Black came out to check on us. “Would you boys like something to drink?” Mom asked us. We all said we could use some soda. Mr. Black said he’d get it and left. He came back a few minutes later with sodas for us and coffees for the adults.

Several minutes later Mr. Redfern returned. “Bobby, your parents will be here tomorrow.” He said.

Bobby started to shake and silently cry.

“What’s wrong?” Dann asked him.

“My dad is going to so pissed... er, sorry, I mean mad. I don’t know what to tell them.” He said letting his head drop to his chest.

Mr. Black came over and knelt down in front of Bobby. He slowly lifted Bobby’s chin so he could look him in the eye. “Bobby, you have nothing to fear. I am not going to let anyone hurt you; you’re just a child and about what happened, you have a special gift that will need to be trained. I am the one who can and will train you in that gift. For now I am going to put a block in your mind so you don’t accidentally walk through a shadow and hurt yourself. Alright?”

Bobby looked at him and slowly nodded his head, “Yes Mr. Black.”

“Good, now relax and close your eyes.”

They both closed their eyes for several minutes. Mr. Black opened his eyes and looked at Bobby with a smile on his face, “Finished, how do you feel?” he asked Bobby.

“Ok, just very tired.” Bobby replied letting out a yawn.

Everyone in the room smiled at him.

Mr. Dowling came over to us. “Also Bobby, why don’t you go and bunk with Robin and Dann if they don’t mind. As for night clothing we may be able to find you something to wear.”

“Yeah he can stay with us, we don’t mind.” Dann said giving Bobby a reassuring smile.

“Ok, thanks, and don’t worry about sleeping clothes, I usually sleep in my underwear.” Bobby said and then blushed once he realized what he had just admitted to total strangers.

Everyone gave a polite chuckle before Dann and I lead Bobby out of the medical facilities and headed down the hall to our suite.

When we got there Ryan and Mark were the only ones still up. “What are you guys still doing up?” I asked them.

“We were waiting for you guys.” Mark said

“Yeah, we wanted to see how Bobby was doing. He doesn’t look to be to worse for wear.” Ryan said smiling at Bobby.

“Bobby, these are our friends Ryan and Mark.” Dann said by way of introduction. “Guys, Bobby is tired and so are we, so can we postpone the interrogation until the morning? We’re heading to bed.”

“Sure thing,” Mark said. “G’night guys and Bobby, welcome to RavenWolf’s.”

We showed Bobby into our room and we all got undressed and crawled into the big bed Dann and I had made by un-stacking the bunk beds and pushing then together. We put Bobby in the middle so that Dann and I were on either side of him so we could comfort him if he needed it.

We said good night and then settled in for the night. Bobby fell asleep quickly.

What do you think babe? This poor kid seems to be pretty messed up.” Dann sent to me.

I agree hon. He needs friends in the worst of ways. I don’t think we can turn our backs on him. We’ll do everything we can for him.” I said.

I love you babe, goodnight.” Dann told me before he went to sleep. I was not far behind him.

Chapter 6

-=Ravenwolf Magick School=-

-=Book 1: The Gathering=-

-=Chapter 6=-

***Dann’s Perspective***

The final two weeks before school started flew by WAY to quick. Robin, Ryan and I spent a LOT of the time messing around in the pool; of course Robin and I did our own bit of messing around in bed at night too, and on the basketball court. Ryan was actually getting pretty good on the court and he in turn taught us a few things about the X-Box games that I had.

Most of the days of that last week before school we were at home alone since our parents had stuff to do at the school to get ready for classes to start. We managed to talk our parents into us all going ahead and moving up to the school a few days early so that we could stake out our beds and rooms before any of the other students arrived.

Robin and I were just about finished with getting our room arranged the way liked it (which meant unstacking the beds and pushing them together), when I got this overwhelming feeling of dread. I bolted out of the room and out of the suite heading for the main lobby as quickly as I could.

Robin was yelling in my head wanting to know what was wrong, so I fed him the feelings I was getting from downstairs. I quickly understood and passed me the kid’s name after scanning him and told me that he was just scared and needed a friend.

As I finally made it to the ground floor, I breathlessly ran into the main office looking around frantically for Mark.

“Dann, I was just about to call for you,” Mrs. Corrin said, “Mr. Dowlin would like to see you.”

“Is Mark ok? I could feel his distress all the way upstairs.” I said as I looked at the school secretary. Even though I had not had a chance to spend much time with many of the faculty and staff here yet, I could already tell that she was nicer than her husband who taught the class on crystals.

“He’s ok Dann,” she was telling me as I headed toward Mr. Dowlins office, “ he’s just scared, but I guess you already know that. How did you know his name though?”

“Robin told me, he scanned him after I felt his distress.” I knocked on Mr. Dowlins door and walked in with a final look at Mrs. Corrin and seeing he smiling and shaking her head.

I looked right at Mark and noticed that he was fairly cute even if was just bit on the chubby side, like he had yet to lose all his baby fat.

“Ah, Dann, you got here fast, this is…” Mr. Dowlin was saying but I cut him off.

“Mark, it’s ok, you’re safe here, nobody is going to hurt you, and there are two guys waiting upstairs in our suite to meet you.” I plowed forward. “My name is Dann and I’m in the same dorm suite and classes as you. Here take my hand and let me help you calm down.”

Mark hesitantly took my hand, and as soon as he did you could instantly see him calm down as I pushed all the positive and relaxing feelings could through our grip.

Mr. Dowlin smiled when he saw what was happening. “Thank you Dann, I knew that if anyone here could settle this young man down it would be you. I see that you are starting to extend your powers; it’s obvious that you can now not only feel others emotions, but also affect them.”

“Yes sir, I can only do it through direct contact, but that seems to be changing as well.”

“Well that’s good; I think you’ll be able to help put a lot of the new students at ease. Now why don’t you take Mark here and show him around the campus and where his bed is.”

“Yes sir. Where’s your stuff at Mark?”

“I don’t know. I haven’t seen it since I got on the plane to come here.”

“Never mind, Robin just told me that they just delivered it to our suite. I told him to put you in the room with Ryan.”

Mark looked at me funny, “What are you talking about?”

Mr. Dowlin answered before I could, “Dann and Robin can speak to each other telepathically.”

“That is so cool!” Mark exclaimed.

I started giggling, “Come on Mark, Robin is dying to meet you.”

Without another word I dragged Mark out of the principal’s office and we headed upstairs to our suite.

As we ran up the stairs Mark asked me, “Can everyone here do things like you and Robin?”

I gave a small chuckle, “Nah, so far it’s just me and Robin, ever since we kissed we’ve been linked together.”

Mark stopped so fast that I didn’t even realize it until I reached the next landing.

“What’s wrong, why did you stop like that, come on the guys are waiting for us.”

“I take it from what you just said that Robin is your boyfriend?”

I looked him in the eye and reached out my mind towards him, but could not feel any animosity from him. “Yes, that’s not a problem is it?”

He grinned at me, “Heck no it’s not a problem. In fact I’m bi. It just kinda surprised me to hear you talking about it so frankly and openly like that.”

“Well, you’ll find that, so far, everyone here is very accepting. It won’t matter if you find yourself a boyfriend or girlfriend as long as you love each other that’s the only thing that matters. And I can guarantee that you will have the support of Robin, Ryan and myself regardless of who you fall in love with.”

“I’m so glad to hear that. So, I know that you and Robin are together, but what about this Ryan?”

I just about fell down the stairs I started laughing so hard. “Forget about it man, Ryan is straight. He’s also our best friend.”

“Oh well, I was just asking dude, calm down. At least now that I know I won’t be trying to put any moves on him. The last thing I would want to do is destroy a possible friendship before it can really get started.”

“Don’t sweat it man, come on, let’s get you settled in. Robin just asked what was taking us so long to get back to the suite.”

Mark had a touch of panic in his voice, “What did you tell him?”

“Relax man, trust me, Ryan will be cool with it, he’ll probably even be a bit flattered that you wanted to hook up with him sight unseen.”

“If you say so. Come on, I think I’m gonna need to lay down for a bit now. I haven’t even met the guy and I’ve already embarrassed myself over him.”

“Dude, I told you, relax. But you’re right, come on, we need to get going before they come hunting for us.”

We finished heading up to the suite and went in to find Robin and Ryan sitting together on the sofa talking with their heads together in a conspiratorial manner, not even paying attention to the TV.

“Hey guys, I want you to meet Mark.”

They looked over at us, then put their heads back together and started giggling. I could feel Mark getting very uneasy.

“Damnit Dann, you lied, you said you didn’t tell Robin.” He yelled just before running out the door.

Robin was instantly off the couch and out the door, “Mark wait. Come back. Dann didn’t tell me anything. We were just messing around.”

“You swear. He didn’t tell you anything about what happened in the stairwell?”

“I swear to you man he did not TELL me anything. Now come on back inside, Ryan wants to meet his new roommate.”

Mark looked at me for a moment before he reluctantly followed me back into the suite.

Ryan surprised us all when he walked over to Mark, embraced him and apologized to him. “I’m sorry man that was mean. Come on I’ll show you your bed.”

Mark was unsure about getting hugged from Ryan, “ummm, Why are you hugging me? Dann told me you’re straight. I’m confused.”

Ryan giggled, “Yes I’m straight, but friends give each other hugs when they need comforting. There is nothing sexual about it. Now relax and come on. It’s getting close to lunch time. Let’s get you settled and then head down to the dinning hall.”

“Ok.” And the two of them headed into their room to get Mark settled in before lunch.

I think those two are going to become great friends.” Robin sent to me.

“I think you’re right babe.” I said as I pulled him into a hug and gave him a quick kiss.

Mark and Ryan came out of the room a few minutes later with big smiles on their faces. “Come on guys, let’s show him around the school before lunch and then we’ll show him the rest of the grounds after we eat.”

“Sounds good to me.” I said.

“Me too.” Robin added, “Let’s go.”

With that we all headed out. We showed were everything was located at inside the main building and then headed to the dinning hall to grab lunch.

Dad, pop, and Lisa were already in the dinning hall at one of the big tables eating their meal. “Dad, Pop, Lisa, this is Mark. He just arrived a little bit ago and Mr. Dowlin asked me to show him around the campus. Mark, these are my dads and Robin’s mom.”

“Hi,” he said timidly, “nice to meet you.”

“Nice to meet you too Mark. I trust the Three Musketeers are taking good care of you?” Dad asked him.

“Yes sir. I was a nervous wreck until Dann showed up in Mr. Dowlin’s office. I calmed down right away as soon as he showed up.”

Dad looked at me with his eyebrows raised.

“I felt his distress upstairs and went down to see if I could help, turns out that Mr. Dowlin had just sent for me. I projected a sense of calmness into him and everything has been great since.”

“Well, I’m glad you’re learning how to use your powers to help others. We’re very proud of you son.” Pop told me. “Now why don’t you four go grab some chow and come back over here and join us?”

“Are you sure it would be ok for us to eat at the staff table pop?”

“School hasn’t started yet, and we asked you to join us, so yes.” He said with a smile.

The four of us ran off to grab some food and then returned to the table and joined our parents.

“So Mark, where are you from?” Robin’s mom asked him.

“San Francisco ma’am.”

“Ahh, was out there many years ago, before Robin was born. Was a very nice city. Met some really nice witches out there too.”

“Yes, I’m kinda missing it right now. I was really surprised to get the invitation to go to school here. Mom said she had heard about it through one of the magazines she gets and decided that it would be good for me to go to school here.”

“Are both of your parents witches?” she asked.

“It’s just me and my mom. Dad died in a car accident several years ago.”

“Oh dear, I’m so sorry.”

“It’s ok. I’ve talked to him since then. Mom is a medium so we are able to talk to him periodically. He says it’s really nice where he’s at and that I should not be afraid or sad.”

“Well that’s good. I’m glad that you’ve been able to get some closure to it and have been able to talk to him from beyond the vale.”

“Thank you Ms. Starr. It helped a lot the first time that mom made contact. I’m looking forward to learning how to do all that while I’m here so I can contact him myself.”

“Well, if your mom has that ability, then I feel confident that you do too.” Pop said. “You should do really well in my class if you elect to take it in your fifth year.”

“Thank you sir. I’m looking forward to it. I just wish I could take it before then.”

“I know, but you have to have all of your basics out of the way first. You can’t build a house with the roof first. You have to start with the foundation. Besides, not everyone is interested in that branch of magick. So it was decided that it would be one of the offered electives for fifth years.”

“Your right I guess. I just wish I could take the stuff that interests me now.”

“I know you do. But take Numerology for example. You might be interested in it, but it wouldn’t be a good idea to take it until you have some solid math classes under you.”

“True, so I guess I’ll just be patient until then.”

Dad giggled, “If you know patience, maybe you can pass some of it on to Dann.”

“DAD!” I exclaimed.

“Just messin’ with you son.” He said as he reached over and ruffled my hair.

We had all managed to finish eating while they were all talking. Lisa looked at us, “Why don’t you guys finish showing Mark around the grounds and then hit the pool for a bit. That should give your food plenty of time to settle.”

“Great idea mom.” Ryan said, “Come on guys, let’s go.”

We all ran out of the dinning hall to complete Marks tour of the campus then ran up to our rooms to get changed for the pool.

We played around in the pool for a couple of hours before heading back up to our suite to get showered and dressed for dinner. “You know the one thing I don’t care about with using this pool over the one at home?” I asked no one in particular.

“What’s that?” Ryan asked.

“The fact that we have to wear suites here.”

“I agree,” Ryan said, “It was much better being able to swim nude at your place. I hope we get to back before it gets too cold to use your pool.”

Mark was aghast, “You mean you guys swam skyclad?”

Ryan put his arm over Marks shoulder, “Yeah, it was great.”

“And you weren’t worried about being naked in front of them?”

“Why should I be?”

“Well, I mean, most straight guys wouldn’t do that with gay guys around.”

“I don’t think of them as gay, they’re my friends. Besides, they have each other, so I know that I’m safe. Why, would you have a problem with it?” Ryan asked him with a note of concern in his voice.

“No, but Ryan, I need to tell you something and I hope it won’t be a problem for you since we’re gonna be roomies, but I’m bi.”

“That’s kewl. You know that I’m straight, so I trust you not to try and come on to me. I won’t mind if you look at me either. I actually find it kind of flattering when other people check me out.”

“I’m glad to hear you say that. I was a bit concerned.”

“Well don’t be dude, we’re going to be living together, so we will probably be seeing each other nude quite a bit.”

Mark gave Ryan a hug, “I’m so happy to hear you say that. Come on let’s get showered and dressed, I’m starting to get a bit hungry again.”

Ryan returned the hug, “Sounds good, let’s go, I’m starting to feel hungry too and those two love birds are probably going to be wondering what’s taking us so long.” He finished with a chuckle.

About 45 minutes later we were all showered and dressed and headed down to the dinning hall for dinner.

This time we sat at the table that was assigned to our year. We noticed that there were a few more students there for dinner. There were a couple of girls from our year already seated at our table; but most were from upper years.

I sat down next to a pretty red haired girl, “Hi, I’m Dann; since you two are sitting here I assume that you are in our year. This is Robin, Ryan and Mark.” I said introducing my friends.

“Hi, I’m Rachel, and this is Suzy,” she said indicating a very pretty black girl. “We just got here this afternoon.”

“Well welcome to Ravenwolf’s,” I said. “Mark just got here this morning himself. What do you think of the school so far?”

“It’s nice,” Suzy said, “Kind of makes me feel like I’m at Hogwarts.”

I giggled, “Yeah, except that the food doesn’t just appear on the tables and there aren’t ghosts floating around the castle, not to mention a few other differences.”

“Yeah, but that would be so cool if there were.” Rachel said.

I noticed that Ryan kept looking at Rachel. “Hey, check out Ryan.” I sent to Robin.

Robin glanced over at Ryan and started chocking on the drink that he has just taken a big swallow of. He started coughing and I had to smack him on the back. “Are you ok babe?” I asked in concern.

Robin started to snicker, “Oh yeah, I’m fine, but Ryan seems to have it bad for Rachel.” He sent to me.

About that time Mr. Black walked past. “Robin, Dann, it’s not polite to do that, talk out loud unless there is some reason that you are trying to hide your conversation from the others.”

I looked up into the light chocolate face of the spell casting teacher, “Sorry Mr. Black was just trying to save Ryan some embarrassment.”

“Ok, I’ll let is slide. I’m glad to see that you two are progressing and getting more comfortable with your powers, but please try and not carry on private conversations like that when you are in a group. Some people might get the wrong idea.”

“Yes sir, sorry sir.” I said as he headed up to the staff table.

Suzy gave me a puzzled look, “What was he talking about?” she asked me.

“Well, Robin and I share a bond that allows us to talk to each other like telepathy. He actually is a telepath, whereas I’m and empathy.”

“Ok, that’s cool, but what were you guys trying to keep secret?” she asked.

I noticed that Ryan’s attention had not shifted in the least; he was totally oblivious to what was going on around him. “Just take a look at the red head next to you.”

Suzy looked at Ryan and started giggling. “Hey Rach, you seem to have an admirer, and from the looks of it he’s got it bad. I think you might want to tell him before he gets any worse.”

Suzy finally noticed the way Ryan was looking at her and got an expression on her face that was a mixture of humor and sympathy. “Earth to Ryan, Come in Ryan.” She said trying to snap him out of it.

Mark popped him in the back of the head and he finally came out of his trance-like state. “Ouch, what you go and do that for?” he asked rubbing the back of his head.

Mark just started snickering along with the rest of us. “What’s so funny?” Ryan asked.

“I wish I had a camera so I could show you.” I said between snickers.

“I can do one better than that.” Robin said and sent an image of how Ryan was looking directly into his head.

“No way, you’re making that up.” Ryan exclaimed.

“Nope, everyone here saw you.” Robin told him.

Ryan’s face turned redder than his hair as he hung his head in shame and embarrassment.

“Hey Ryan,” Rachel said to get his attention, when he finally looked up at her she continued, “I’m flattered that you find me that attractive, but I just want to let you know that it could never happen. We could never be anything more than friends.”

“You think I’m short, fat, and ugly don’t you?” he bemoaned.

“Not at all,” Rachel said quickly, “It’s just that you’re not my type. You see Ryan, I’m a lesbian.”

The look of shock and surprise that came to Ryans face just made us all start giggling even more. “It figures,” he said, “I guess everyone is right. All the cute ones are either gay or taken.”

“Why thank you Ryan,” Robin said with a chuckle, “You’re right, Dann IS cute and he IS taken.”

That got us all rolling with laughter.

Suzy looked across the table at Robin and I, “You mean you two are a couple?”

I looked into Robins eyes and smiled, “Yep, and more than that we are soul mates and are bound to each other on a level most mundane’s would never understand.”

“That is so sweet, I’m so happy for you two. Most people go their entire lives without ever finding their soul mate.” Rachel said

“Thanks Rachel.” Robin said.

Ryan looked totally crestfallen. Mark put his arm over his shoulders and pulled him into a sideways hug, “It’ll be ok bud, you’ll find someone.”

Ryan returned the hug, “Thanks bud, I know.”

We all enjoyed our dinner while carrying on small talk and getting to know each other better. After we finished dinner we invited Rachel and Suzy up to our common room for a few hours to just chill. I could tell that these two girls were going to make a great addition to our growing group.

Around 9:00 the girls excused themselves to go back to their room for the night saying that it had been a long day and would see us in the morning at breakfast. We all said goodnight and they left.

“They’re right guys, it’s been a long day, and tomorrow is Saturday, the bulk of the students will be arriving. I have a feeling that Mr. Dowlin is going to need me to help with the first years like I did with Mark. You guys can all help me too. So let’s all get to bed.” I said as I started pulling Robin towards our room.

Ryan got a mischievous grin on his face, “ok, just don’t you two keep us up all night with your bed squeaking.”

I looked at him, “You’re just jealous. Now go to bed and get some sleep. Tomorrow is going to be even longer than today.” And with that I closed our bedroom door, quickly undressed and joined my love in our bed for a night of some serious snuggling before the school got overrun by the new students.

Chapter 5

-=Chapter 5=-

***Dann’s Perspective***

I sat in the outer office at the school with Robin sitting next to me holding my hand. Our parents were in speaking to Principal Dowlin about getting us both into the beginning spell casting class our first year. Spell casting is normally a 4th year course, but because of what happened this morning they all figured that it would be a good idea for us to take it early.

When they came out of the Principal’s office they told us that after doing some creative juggling with our schedules we would be taking the spell casting course in addition to our regular first year classes. We were also informed that Robin’s mother had been offered a job at the school. Seems that something had come up and the person that was originally supposed to be the schools nurse had to back out at the last minute. So now Robin's mom would be the school nurse.

Even though it was still two weeks before school started, Mr. Dowlin informed us that there was already one student in attendance. Seems his folks had to go away on business before the day when most of the students would be coming in, so they sent him up early. “He'll be in your classes boys. Since he's here early and there is still nearly two weeks before any of the other students start arriving, I thought it might be a good idea to introduce you guys.” Mr. Dowlin told us.

We walked around to the dormitory wing and went up the three flights of stairs to the boys’ floor. We walked down to one of the dorm suites, which just happened to be the same one that Robin and I had been assigned, and found this boy sitting in the common room playing on a gameboy. He was sitting facing the windows with his back to the door, so I wasn't able to really see what he looked like.

Mr. Dowlin cleared his through to get the kids attention since he didn't seem to notice us coming in the door. “Ryan, there's some people that I would like you to meet.”

The kid put down his game, got up, and turned around to face us. What I saw was a kid that was a little heavier than Robin with the brightest red hair I had ever seen. He was a little pale, but still had color because of the over-abundance of freckles that covered his face. “Ryan,” Mr. Dowlin continued, “Since you're here two weeks early, I thought it would be nice for you to meet a couple of your dorm-mates. They don't live to far away at the moment, but will be moving in here to the dorms once school starts. Ryan, I want you to meet Dann Drake and Robin Starr. Guys, this is Ryan Mark. Well, I'll leave you three to get acquainted while I go show Robins mom where she'll be working.” and with that he was out the door.

The three of us just stood there for a few minutes looking at each other. “Ok, this is uncomfortable.” Robin sent to me over our link.

I figured that I had nothing to lose so I took the initiative, “Hey Ryan, what were you playing there?” I asked indicating his gameboy.

“What do you guys care? I don't even know why you're here. Nobody has ever wanted to be my friend before. Not really any ways, they only want to use me and then forget about me. So you guys might as well just go ahead and leave now and save us all a bunch of time.”

I was shocked to say the least and I could feel the shock and sympathy that Robin was feeling for this kid too. “Dude, just chill man.” Robin said finally speaking up. “How do we know if we are going to be friends if we don't get to know each other first? But if the way you just snapped at us is any indication of how you normally treat new people, then I can see why you don't have any friends.”

Calm down babe, no reason to meet his hostility with your own.” I sent to my boyfriend, “I sense that something has happened in his past to make him feel like that. Give him a chance. Let me try this again.”

I looked back at Ryan, “Ok, let's see if we can start this over again. My name is Dann, and this guy next to me is my boyfriend Robin. We are going to be spending the next 5 years living together here, so we might as well get to know each other and try to be friends. You never know, we just might end up having a bunch of things in common with each other, or we might not have anything in common, but have skills that can complement each other. What do you say?”

Ryan looked at my outstretched hand, then up at the both of us. “Did you say he's your boyfriend?” I couldn't quite figure out the tone of voice that he asked that in. It wasn't really disgust, but more one of unbelief.

“Yah, do you have a problem with that?” Robin snapped at him, I could feel that he thought he had asked it with hostility and disgust. I put my hand on his shoulder to try and calm him down some and shared some of my calm with him.

“No, no problem.” he said taking a step back away from Robin. “One of my cousins is gay, I was just a bit surprised that you would be so open about it to a total stranger.”

I smiled at him and felt Robin finally start to relax. “Well, you are here at a school for magick, so I would naturally assume that you have been brought up like most people in the magickal community to accept it.”

“So,” Ryan paused and actually blushed a little bit before continuing, “how long have you two been together?”

Robin and I looked at each other with a big ole grin on each other face. I glanced at my watch, “About 3 hours now.”

“What?” the shock and surprise that was all wrapped up in that one exclamation had us both about to fall on the floor. “You're kidding right? You guys just met today?”

It was extremely difficult for me to talk, I was laughing so hard, and Robin wasn't doing much better, but managed to get out, “No, we met yesterday, came out to each other this morning and were bonded to each other about 3 hours ago.”

I reached over and pushed Ryans mouth shut which just made Robin laugh even harder.

“Dang, you two don't believe in long relationships do you?” Ryan asked totally bemused.

I managed to drag my hysterical boyfriend over to the couch were we both collapsed in fits of laughter.

“I mean, damn guys,” Ryan continued while retaking his seat, “Met yesterday, came out to each other this morning, and are already bound to each other?”

I managed to regain some of my control so that I could attempt to explain things to our poor dorm-mate. “Actually, the bonding was kind of an accident. It seems that we have been soul mates for a very, very long time. And when I kissed him this morning and promised that I would always be there for him I unknowingly cast a spell binding me to him. After asking my dads what had happened they explained it to us, and then Robin here did the same thing to be bound with me. Now we can share each others thoughts, emotions, and even see through each others eyes. We have pretty much become one person.” Once again, I had to reach over and close Ryans mouth for him before something flew in.

“You're kidding right? I mean, nobody can do the kinds of things that you just said, that's all fantasy.”

“We'll prove it,” Robin said getting up off the couch. “I'll go into mine and Dann’s room, you can say something to Dann, and also show him something that has nothing to do with what you tell him. I'll then come back in and tell you what you told him and what you showed him. Will that convince you?”

Ryan shook his head in the affirmative so Robin went into our room, “We have GOT to get in here and get this place decorated, it's SO plain in here.” he sent to me from the other room. I gave a little chuckle that managed to get me a funny look from Ryan. “I'll explain in a minute. Ok, shall we get started?”

“Ok, I guess. Just so you know, I'm not gay, but I have no problems with you two being a couple and hope that we really can be friends.” Ryan told me while pulling out his wallet and showing me a picture of him with his parents and little brother before putting it away. “Ok Robin, you can come back in now.” he called out.

Robin came back in, gave Ryan a sideways friendly hug while saying “I hope we can be friends too, and it doesn't matter to us if you're gay or straight. Oh, and your brother is going to be a real looker when he gets older.” He finished that last with a big shit eatin grin on his face which earned him being pushed off the arm of the chair he was sitting on by Ryan. Robin was laughing again by the time he even hit the floor.

“Ok,” Ryan said with a grin on his face, “I believe you. That is SO cool. So Dann, what did he say to you after he left that got you giggling?”

I chuckled again, “Oh, he was just being totally gay and talking about having to decorate our room.”

That got Ryan laughing too. “Well, he is right, I may not be gay, but even I can tell these rooms need some work. They are so plain and sterile.”

“Yeah,” I agreed, “nothing a few well placed posters can't fix.”

Everyone agreed with me. “So, what do you guys have planned for the next couple of weeks till school starts?” Ryan asked us.

Robin and I looked at each other for a moment before turning back to Ryan and in unison saying “Swim.”

That got another chuckle out of Ryan. “You mean here in the schools pool?” he asked.

“Nah, we have a nice big pool at our house, along with a hot tub and other fun stuff.”

Ryan looked crestfallen, “So you guys aren't going to be staying here at the school now? I thought you two were moving in early.”

I looked at Ryan and then at Robin who nodded his head to me. “I'll be back in a minute Ryan, let me go check on something real quick.” I said as I got up and gave his shoulder a quick squeeze as I headed out the door.

I ran down the three floors of our wing and then headed for the administration offices looking for dad and pop. I almost ran Mr. Dowlin over as I came tearing around a corner. “Hold up there Dann, no running. What's your big hurry, is something wrong?” he asked me in a quick barrage.

“Sorry, looking for my dads and I guess you could look at it like that.” I rattled back to him while trying to catch my breath.

“Come on, I think their upstairs in the medical office with Robins mom.” He said as he quickly started to lead me up the main stairs to the third floor.

Sure enough, we found all three of them in the medical office where Ms. Starr was making a list of things she needed to have the office fully stocked. “Dave, Glenn, this young fireball of yours about ran me over downstairs trying to find you, he says something is wrong.” Mr. Dowlin said to me dads.

All three parents got worried looks on their faces and all three started talking at once. “Are you ok?” Dad asked. “Is some one hurt?” pop asked. “Is Robin ok?” Ms. Starr asked.

I held up my hand to get them to stop while I finished catching my breath and then looking at each of them in turn I answered “Yes, No, and Yes.”

“But you told me something was wrong.” Mr. Dowlin said with a confused look on his face.

“I never said that something was wrong per se’, I said that you could say that something was. Robin and I wanted to know if it would be ok for Ryan to come home with us until school starts so he’s not here all alone. None of the other students will be arriving for another week and a half or so.”

The adults all looked at each other for a moment, but it was Mr. Dowlin who broke the silence, “If you two have no problem with it, I don’t see any reason why not. I think it would be a great idea. Like Dann said, he would pretty much be here all alone until the other students arrived.”

“Can he Dad, Pop? We have plenty of room at the new house.” I was almost pleading with them now.

They looked at each other and smiled before looking back at me. “I don’t see why not, it will give you someone other than Robin to hang out with.” Dad said with a knowing grin on his face.

“DAD!” I exclaimed. “We have not even been thinking about anything like that.”

Speak for yourself.” Robin suddenly said in my head with a chuckle which caused me to get a funny look on my face and to turn bright red.

“What’s with the blushing?” pop asked.

“Just something that Robin just said to me. He heard what you said.”

“Well, at least we now know that your link goes farther than just in the same room or line of sight.” Dad said.

“Go tell Ryan to pack a bag and get ready to go, we’re almost done here.” Pop told me.

“I don’t have to,” I replied, “Robin already told him your answer and he’s packing right now.”

The adults all started laughing, “I can see that having you two here will definitely keep things from getting boring around here.” Mr. Dowlin said through his laughter. I just smiled and silently agreed with him.

Ms. Starr finished making her supply list and handed it to Mr. Dowlin, “I think this should do to get me started. We can get anything else that we might end up needing later if the need arises.”

“I’ll get this list to Mr. Redfern this afternoon, and the supplies should be in sometime next week. I’ll give you a call when they are delivered so you can come up and inspect them and put them where you want them.”

“Thank you very much,” Ms. Starr said, “And thank you once again for the job.”

“My pleasure, the fates were really smiling on us when you came into my office this morning.”

We headed down the hall towards my suite to collect Robin and Ryan, I apologized again to Mr. Dowlin for nearly knocking him down. We then all headed back downstairs to head back to the house, and the awaiting pool.

Chapter 4

-=Chapter 4=-

***Robin’s Perspective***

“Robin! Get out of that bed and get dressed, we have to go next door.” Mom yelled up the stairs to me. I looked at the alarm clock next to my bed and groaned when I saw that it was only 7:30. This was WAY too early to be getting up when there was no school.

Wait, did she say we had to go next door?

I was instantly awake and out of bed, pulling on clothes as quickly as I could. I couldn’t believe I was going to get to see Dann even sooner than I had expected.

I ran down the stairs like a flash and nearly knocked mom over at the bottom of the stairs.

“Whoa, slow down there sport. Someone might think you actually WANTED to go next door.” Mom said with a chuckle and a twinkle in her eye.

I quickly ducked out of her reach as she went to try and fix my hair. I stepped over to the mirror hanging in the hall to fix my own hair.

“I wanted to go talk to Dann this afternoon, but was not expecting it to be this early.” I said, still trying to get my hair to lie down. “Speaking of early, what’s he doing up this early, I sure hope he’s not one of those annoying people that are up and all happy early in the morning.”

“I don’t know sweetie, David just called me a few minutes ago, said that something had come up and that they wanted us to come over there as soon as we could.”

I tried to think of what could have come up that they would want us over there this early in the morning. I suddenly felt weak as the thought hit me that maybe he found out that I was gay.

Mom must have noticed something, “Are you alright honey? You just went very pale.”

“You don’t think he found out that I’m gay do you?” I asked her with a bit of a shaky voice loaded with worry.

“I don’t know how in the few hours that you two have been apart. I’m sure that David and Glenn would not have said anything.”

“Then how could he have found out?” I actually whined.

“Robin, you do not know that that is the reason for the call. So just calm down, we’ll go over there, find out what’s going on and deal with it.”

Of course I knew she was right. “Ok, let’s get this over with.”

I nervously walked next door with mom trying to prepare myself for the worst.

We stepped up onto the porch and the door opened before we even had a chance to knock or ring the bell.

“Won’t you two come on into the family room and have a seat so we can get this over with? Would you like some coffee Lisa?” Glenn asked.

“That sounds great. Black please.”

“Coming right up, Robin, would you like some OJ?”

“Yes please.”

Glenn walked off to the kitchen to get our drinks while mom and I went into the family room were David and Dann were waiting for us. I was so nervous that I could not even look at Dann, I just kept my eyes focused on the ground waiting for the inevitable condemnation that I just knew was about to come from the boy that I was falling in love with.

Glenn came back in with mom’s coffee and my orange juice.

“Lisa, Robin, won’t you please sit down?” David asked gesturing for us to take a seat on the unoccupied sofa. We sat down, but I still could not look at Dann. Because I was not looking at him, I did not realize that he also was looking at the floor rather than me.

“Dann,” David started off, “in the interest of expediency here, would you mind if I summarize what you told us this morning?”

“Nah, go ahead dad.” Dann replied, still not looking up.

“Ok,” David continued, “Lisa, Robin; this morning Dann informed us about a couple of dreams he had last night. Both dreams were of him and Robin. One showed them together in the future, and the other showed them together in the past. Glenn and I are of the impression that this means that the boys are soul mates. Now, before anything else is said, I think Robin needs to tell Dann the reason why you two moved here last year.” I was instantly petrified. “It’s ok Robin, everything will be as it should be.”

I paused a moment trying to gather my courage, I took a quick swallow of my OJ and quickly said: “I got caught kissing another boy.” I quickly took another swig of my juice. My mom put her arm around my shoulder to try and comfort me.

Dann finally looked up in surprise. “Why didn’t you just tell me yesterday? You had to know that I would have been alright with it. Heck, I have two dads that are gay, and I’ve finally come to the realization and acceptance that I am too.”

I snapped my head up looking at Dann.

“In fact,” he continued, “I believe that I am actually falling in love with you, and since the dreams seem to indicate that we are soul mates, it seems that it is predestined that we are to be together.”

I could not believe what I was hearing. I knew deep down inside me that what he was saying was true, but it was still a little hard to believe right off. I could feel the connection between us, like it had always been there and always would be there.

Dann looked at me with pleading eyes, “Say something Robin, please.” When I looked into those deep blue eyes of his I could not bring myself to deny him anything that he might request of me, ever.

“I think I love you too.” I timidly said. “I can feel a connection to you, almost like I can actually feel what you are feeling.”

We just looked deeply into each others eyes, not knowing what else to say, and feeling like there was nothing more that needed to be said.

We were so caught up with each other that neither of us even noticed our parents get up and leave the room.

The next thing I knew Dann and I were in each others arms, hugging each other like we were afraid to ever let the other go for fear of something terrible happening to the other.

***Dann’s Perspective***

When Robin said that he thought he loved me too I felt such a sense of peace and happiness like I had never felt before.

I quickly grabbed him up into a hug and held on to him for dear life. When I embraced Robin I got a feeling of completeness, like a part of me that I had not realized was missing had suddenly come back to me.

I pulled my head back enough to be able to look into those soulful green eyes of his and smiled at him. “We are together now, just as it has been in the past and as it shall be in the future. For all time you are a part of me, and I am a part of you, together we complete each other.” I then leaned down and kissed him gently but passionately on the lips.

As soon as our lips touched there was a sensation like electricity that went through both of our bodies. Suddenly, it was as if I was looking at myself in a mirror.

We pulled apart quickly. I could tell by the look on Robins face that he had felt it too. “What just happened?” I asked frantically.

“I don’t know, nothing like that had happened when I kissed that other boy last year.” Robin said with a touch of fear starting to creep into his voice.

“DAD, POP!” I yelled out, “GET IN HERE!”

“What’s wrong?” They both asked in a near panic as all three of them ran back into the family room.

“That’s what we’re hoping you’ll be able to tell us.” I said. “We just kissed, felt something like electricity flow through us, and then it was like I was looking into my own eyes, almost like looking in a mirror, but not looking in a mirror. Does that make ANY sense?”

“Did you say anything just before you kissed?” Pop asked.

I told him what I told Robin just before I kissed him. Pop looked at dad with a smile on his face, and dad could barely keep himself from laughing. Robin’s mother just stood there with a worried and confused look on her face. “Will one of you two please tell us what happened?” she asked.

Dad was practically in hysterics now, so pop had to tell us, “It looks like our son here just cast his first spell. They truly are joined now. A joining that is closer than any marriage or handfasting could ever make them. They truly are now a part of each other.”

Dad finally regained control of himself, “Wait a minute. Robin did you say it back to Dann?”

“No.” Robin stated, still a bit confused.

Dad looked at pop, “Then the connection is probably only one way.”

“You’re probably right Dave. Robin, did you get the same sensation that Dann just explained?”

Robin looked at me, “I felt the electricity, but that was it.”

“Ok,” dad continued, “you need to say the same words that Dann did and then kiss him. That way the connection will be complete.”

I looked at Robin, then at dad. “What will happen once this connection is completed? What will it mean?”

“Well,” pop started, “If my suspicions are correct, based on what you already told us, I suspect that you will be linked together in such a way that you will be able to see through each others eyes. You might also be able to feel what the other one is feeling, know what the other one knows, and possibly even communicate with each other when you’re apart.”

“And I’ll tell you right now,” dad continued, “if we find out that you two are using these abilities to cheat in your classes you will be in very big trouble. I would hate to have to find a way to bind these abilities as I feel they can be of great help to you if needed.”

Robin and I looked at each other, then back to my dad, “Ok, we promise.” We said in unison.

Dad smiled at us and just shook his head. “Ok, then if you’re ready Robin, go ahead.”

Robin and I looked at each other and then embraced like we had been before. Robin took a deep breath, looked deep into my eyes and then repeated my words back to me. “We are together now, just as it has been in the past and as it shall be in the future. For all time you are a part of me, and I am a part of you, together we complete each other.” Then he kissed me. We felt the electricity again, but this time it was more like we switched bodies. I could see and hear what he was thinking and he could do the same with me. This time the electricity was not just in our lips, but we could feel it flowing throughout our bodies. The sensation was kind of like the way your foot feels when it falls asleep, but this was running through our entire bodies.

“Great Goddess, would you look at that.” We heard Lisa exclaim.

We quickly broke the kiss, but the electric feeling did not immediately go away. “What? Ain’t you never seen two guys kiss before?” I asked Lisa with a barely suppressed chuckle.

Lisa looked at me with slight indignation, “Of course I have. I was referring to the glow. You two were giving off a good bit of light.”

“Woah, that is so,” I started saying looking back at Robin, “COOL.” We finished together.

Everyone chuckled at us for finishing my statement together.

“Well?” asked pop. “Can you two communicate telepathically?”

I don’t know can we?” I tried sending to Robin.

Robin looked at me in surprise, “Did you just ask ‘Can we?’”

“Sure did.” I said with a huge grin on my face.

Can you hear me?” I heard in my head.

Yes I can, this is going to be SO cool. I wonder what the range is?” I thought back to him.

I don’t know, but this is going to be so much fun.” I heard Robin reply, and not only did I hear his words, but I could actually feel the love he had for me coming over our connection.

I looked at my parents, “Any idea what kind of range we might have on our telepathy?”

Dad and pop looked at each other for a moment before dad said, “No idea kiddo, but I would imagine that the more time that passes and the more you use it, the farther the range will get. The mind is like your muscles, the more you use it and exercise it the stronger it will become.”

Pop looked at dad, “I think we may need to talk to Mr. Dowlin. I think since they have already managed to cast their first spell, we may need to make a change to their class schedules. They wouldn’t normally be taking Spell Casting until their 4th year, but I think it would be a good idea if they went ahead and took it this year.”

“You may be right.” Dad said. “It’s still early, why don’t we head over to the school and see what can be done. I agree that we may have a unique situation here.”

Everyone agreed that it was a good idea, so all five of us loaded into pops SUV and headed up to the school.
